Trainee Doctors

A GP Registrar or GP trainee is a qualified doctor who is training to become a GP through a period of working and training in a practice. They will usually have spent at least two years in hospital before you see them in practice and are closely supervised by a Senior GP or GP Trainer.

The nurses provide a variety of services including cervical smears, ear syringing and ECG recordings, travel immunisations and promoting better health. They play an important part in the regular review of various chronic diseases like hypertension, diabetes, asthma and the review of contraception.

The practice secretaries are available to answer any queries regarding hospital referrals.

Administration

The administration team are responsible for processing all the daily hospital correspondence, including adding any codes and workflow through to the clinicians where appropriate. They register new patients and summarise medical records to ensure all medical history is on the patient computerised records, they process all emails for the practice. They are also responsible for processing private work that is requested from the practice, including capita forms, firearms licences, solicitors and insurance company

Reception

Receptionists are here to help you. They have a difficult and busy job so please be patient. When telephoning for an appointment or medical advice the receptionist may ask for a few details; this will enable us to help you in the most appropriate way.

Care Co-Ordinator

The care co-ordinator role will ensure patient health and care planning is timely, efficient, and patient-centred. The role will include responsibilities for the co-ordination of the patient's journey through primary care and secondary care ensuring we capture what matter most to the patient and they are actively involved in the shared decision making process about the best choices of care for them.

Social Prescriber

Within our practice we have access to a social prescribing service. The social prescriber provides a personal plan of your needs by drawing on services outside of the NHS such as the voluntary sector and charities. Jess provides support for patients who may be experiencing social isolation, chronic medical conditions, bereavement, mental health issues and lifestyle issues she also provides support for carers and the people they look after. The service includes giving advice on welfare, housing and employment. You can self refer through any of our medical team.

JESS RYAN

Midwives

Care for and support pregnant women, their partners and new babies, before, during and after the birth. They monitor the health of the mother, counsel her on health issues and explain the options for delivery of the baby. They will take care of mothers and babies during labour and birth and provide advice on breast feeding.
