Suicide
Suicide Bereavement Support Service - Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent
Losing someone to suicide is an incredibly difficult and painful experience, and the impact can be felt long after the loss. Seeking support during this time can make a real difference, helping individuals and families to navigate grief, reduce isolation, and access practical and emotional help when it is most needed.
Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent ICB commissions a dedicated postvention service to ensure that anyone bereaved or affected by suicide can access timely, compassionate support.
Support is available, and no one has to cope alone.
Amparo
Amparo provides free, confidential suicide bereavement support to anyone affected by a suicide across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
The service is available for families, friends, colleagues, and wider communities, offering:
- One-to-one support from a dedicated Suicide Bereavement Liaison Worker
- Practical advice and guidance following a death
- Help accessing local services and ongoing emotional support
Referrals can be made by professionals or via self-referral.

Staffordshire County Council - Suicide Prevention and Awareness Training
This training is available to individuals, businesses, clubs, groups, and organisations across Staffordshire.
By breaking the stigma and encouraging open conversations, together we can help prevent suicide in Staffordshire.
Suicide Awareness and Prevention Training (half-day online training):
We need ordinary people (like you) to be more aware of the signs someone is at risk of suicide and be able to help them get the support they need.
Developed and delivered by North Staffordshire Mind, this fully-funded half-day online training has been designed to:
- Help you recognise signs that someone may be at risk
- Train you to use a simple 4-step suicide intervention
- Share information with you about local support service
